Drop-In Notary Service Hours
Drop-In Notary Service Hours provide walk-in notarization at the Jamaica Plain Branch Library. Visitors may arrive anytime during the posted hours; appointments are not required. The service is available for documents in English and is intended for adults.
The November schedule includes a Wednesday session on November 18, 2026. Regular Wednesday hours will not be held on November 11, when the library is closed for Veterans Day, or November 25, when the library closes early before Thanksgiving. Beginning in December, the service will move to Tuesdays.

Service requirements: Forms must be fully completed except for the signatures that need notarization. Do not sign documents until you are with the notary. Every signer must bring a current government-issued photo ID, such as a passport, driver’s license, or state identification card. Visitors must provide their own witnesses when documents require them. For certified copies, bring the original documents.
Limitations: Notarization is not guaranteed. The library may refuse service when requirements are not met, the legality of a situation is uncertain, or for another reason. Documents cannot be notarized outside the drop-in hours, and during busy periods the library may limit service to five stamps per person or group at a time. The notary does not provide legal advice; consult an attorney with questions about signing documents or other legal matters.
Future schedule: Starting in December, notary hours will be held on Tuesdays from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
Accessibility: Disability accommodations and language services may be requested through the library. Allow at least two weeks for arrangements.
