Documentary Club: Bring Them Home - Aiskótáhkapiyaaya
Documentary Club celebrates Native American Heritage Month with a screening of *Bring Them Home: Aiskótáhkapiyaaya* (2024), a documentary about Blackfoot people working to restore a wild bison herd to their ancestral territory. The film is followed by a discussion.
The documentary centers on Ervin Carlson, director of the Blackfeet Buffalo Program, and Paulette Fox, co-creator of the Iinii Initiative. Together with non-Native conservation partners, including the Wildlife Conservation Society of New York City, they work to revive traditions through wildlife conservation and return bison descended from the original herds to the wild.
