Sudan Archives: Any Shape I Want

Sun, Nov 8, 2026at 7:00 PM
Boston, Ma
Price not available
Featuring: Sudan Archives

Sudan Archives brings *Any Shape I Want* to the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston as part of the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s Creation festival. Co-produced by the BSO and ICA/Boston, the performance explores the freedom to move among instruments, identities, and imagined selves. The New York Times has described Sudan Archives as “an artist in a league of her own,” while Pitchfork has praised her original combination of sound and storytelling.

Staged across six stations corresponding to four-hour segments of a day, the work follows Sudan Archives through a complete 24-hour cycle in real time. She reworks songs from her catalog using violin loops and vocals as projected video changes with each passing hour. The result is an evolving, intimate world that audiences first observe and then enter, reflecting Creation festival themes of origin and transformation.

When: Sun, Nov 8

Showtimes: The museum opens at 6:00pm, house doors open at 6:30pm, and the performance begins at 7:00pm.
