Eva James
Eva James brings her contemporary dark-pop songwriting to Sanctuary Cultural Arts Center. Her music explores mental health, anxiety, chronic illness, and toxic relationships, turning deeply personal experiences into emotionally direct songs that function as both confession and catharsis.
In 2023, James won the Gloucester 400th Anniversary Singer-Songwriter Challenge and traveled to New York to begin recording her debut album with Grammy-winning artist Paula Cole. She later received the 2025 Eastern Front Songwriter Grant from Club Passim. Her debut single, “Something New,” arrived in February 2025, followed by the intimate ballad “The One You Lose” in May and the dark, defiant anthem “You’re The Worst” in July. Together, the releases showcase her haunting melodies, candid lyricism, and ability to turn personal pain into powerful, fearless songwriting.
