Drop The Mic: Sunday Morning Poetry and Spoken Word (Dec.)
Start your Sunday morning with coffee, creativity, and community at this welcoming gathering of poetry, spoken word, and storytelling. Each edition features a guest poet or performer, followed by an open invitation for attendees to share their own work or simply listen and connect with fellow community members.
The December guest is Bruce Marcus, a Malden-based spoken-word artist who has performed throughout New England and beyond for more than 35 years. His work includes original true and fictional stories, poems, songs, and recitations, in both rhymed and unrhymed forms. Marcus received Northeast Storytelling’s 2021 Brother Blue and Ruth Hill Award and has appeared in spoken-word programs, coffeehouses, cable television, performing-arts series, festivals, and PBS World Channel’s *Stories from the Stage*. He is also a co-producer, feature coordinator, and frequent host of The Story Space, the Boston-area storytelling series founded by Brother Blue and Ruth Edmonds Hill.
