Hocus Pocus
Cinema Salem presents the 1993 original *Hocus Pocus* on the big screen, close to several locations where the film was shot. By arrangement with Disney, the movie returns for a limited Halloween-season engagement, offering a chance to see the Sanderson Sisters’ supernatural mayhem in the city that helped provide its setting.
The story follows three pranksters who accidentally awaken a trio of 300-year-old witches. The Sanderson Sisters attempt to reclaim their youth and place a spell on Salem, but must contend with three children and a talking cat. Nearby filming locations include Old Town Hall, where Winifred performs “I Put a Spell on You,” and the Ropes Mansion on Essex Street, which served as Allison’s house.
