Jim James (Solo Acoustic) - Wowed Out Tour

Jim James brings his Wowed Out Tour to The Wilbur for a solo acoustic performance. A portion of the tour’s proceeds will benefit TAC and its work supporting LGBTQ youth throughout the country.

A longtime member of My Morning Jacket, James has led the band through a wide-ranging evolution while also developing an expansive solo career. His upcoming fourth solo album of original material, *Wowed Out*, draws on music he initially created for two film-scoring projects in the early 2010s, reshaping it into an immersive, soulful psychedelic work. The show reflects James’s continuing interest in musical experimentation, wonder, connection, and the emotional power of live music.

Background: James is the singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist behind My Morning Jacket. His solo releases include *Regions of Light and Sound of God*, *Eternally Even*, *Tribute To 2*, *Uniform Distortion*, *Uniform Clarity*, and *The Order Of Nature*, a live collaboration with Teddy Abrams and the Louisville Orchestra. He has also produced recordings for artists including Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Dean Wareham, Basia Bulat, Amo Amo, and Ray LaMontagne’s Ouroboros.

Collaborations: James has participated in Monsters of Folk, New Multitudes, and The New Basement Tapes, and has contributed vocals to projects involving The Roots, David Lynch, Brandi Carlile, M. Ward, Dr. Dog, and John Fogerty. He also appeared in Todd Haynes’s 2007 film *I’m Not There*.
